Permohonan Permit CITES

A permit is required to trade plant of endangered spesies

Some species of plants which might become endangered if trade in them is not controlled and monitored. Trade in these species is permitted with proper documents issued by the government of the exporting country. See List of Endangered Species

Where can you get this CITES Permit ?
The Department of Agriculture issues this permit for plants. These permits are only obtainable from our offices in
Johor Bahru, Johor
Alor Setar ,Kedah
Kota Bharu, Kelantan,
Butterworth, Pulau Pinang
KLIA (Sepang) and
Kuala Lumpur.

How can you obtain this CITES Permit ?
You can download the CITES application form from our website here. Otherwise contact the nearest Plant Quarantine Office to get this form. Complete this form as required - please feel free to call us should you need any clarification. Ensure you give us the full scientific name of the plants you intend to export.
Submit this completed form to us at least 2 working days before the intended date of inspection. If you are only intending to take out a small quantity, you may call us and make an appointment to have the plants inspected at our office. Fax your completed forms to us first. On the appointed date either bring your plants over to our office or , if you you so desire, have your plants inspected at your premise. Inspection is to ensure that the names and quantities of the plants intended for export tally with the information given on the application form. ALL the plants you intend to export must be presented for inspection.
If the quantity to be exported is large, arrange with our officer concerned to meet you at your premises for this inspection.
After inspection and being satisfied that all the plants are in order, the CITES permit will be prepared at our office.

How can you collect the permit ?
Please call to confirm if your permit is ready for collection. If so, come personally as you will need to endorse it.

Each permit which can contain up to 4 types of plants will cost RM 20.00. If the inspection was done at your premises, then the charges will also include those as stipulated under phytosanitary certificate for inspection.
